The US president has met North Korea's leader, becoming the first US president to set foot on North Korean soil. The meeting was held in the demilitarised zone. 'I just want to say this is my honour,' Trump said, adding: 'Stepping across that line is a great honour – great progress has been made, great friendships have been made and this has been, in particular, a great friendship.' Trump Returns to D.C. After Trip in Asia

President Donald Trump arrived back in the U.S. after his historic meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump touched down at Joint Base Andrews on Sunday, hours after he became the first serving American president to step onto North Korean soil.

After their meeting at the Korean Demilitarized Zone, Trump announced he and Kim had agreed to resume stalled talks on denuclearization in the coming weeks. (AP)
