Chandrayaan 2 Snag: PM Modi Boosts Morale Of ISRO Scientists

After India lost contact with Chandrayaan 2 lander, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed solidarity with the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) scientists saying, "To our scientists, I want to say India is with you. You are exceptional professionals who have made an incredible contribution to the nation's progress. You have given your best always, and will give us several more opportunities to smile about.

The Indian Space Research Organisation has lost contact with the Chandrayaan-2 lander minutes before it was to land on the Moon. Isro is analysing data from the Vikram lander's descent and is hoping to make contact with the spacecraft. India's second mission to the Moon, Chandrayaan-2 was attempting to land near the south pole of the Moon. Chandrayaan-2's lander Vikram houses the six-wheeled rover Pragyaan that was to explore the lunar surface for around 14 Earth days. The Chandrayaan-2 mission also consists of an orbiter that will revolve around the Moon for around a year. Updates on the Chandrayaan-2 landing are coming in from the Indian Space Research Organisation's headquarters in Bengaluru. Stay tuned with India Today as we bring you the latest from the Chandrayaan-2 landing.
