President Donald Trump said late Friday evening that he's 'having a little spat with China' that he's going to win.
'We're having a little spat with China, and we'll win it,' he asserted.
Trump also that he wouldn't stop Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell from resigning, as he responded to the day's stock selloff for the first time.
'Let me put it this way: If he did, I wouldn't stop him.'
The Federal Reserve is independent and Trump acknowledged in the conversation that he was stuck with him.
'I don't think he's much of a chess players, but I've got him, so you know, that's what I have,' the U.S. president said as he departed for France.
