Donald Trump says the UK's Boris Johnson is the 'right man for the job' and will be a 'great prime minister' who will deliver on Brexit and a trade deal. Scrambled eggs, veal sausage, toast and a trade deal were on the menu Sunday morning at the breakfast in Biarritz for Trump and Johnson, who were meeting for the first time since the latter became the UK's leader. 'He needs no advice. He's the right man for the job,' Trump said of his friend. 'I've been saying that for a long time. Didn't make your predecessor very happy, but I've been saying that for a long time.'
Johnson chuckled and told him, 'He's on message there! I'm very grateful for that and we're looking forward to having some pretty comprehensive talks about how to take forward the relationship in all sorts of ways, particularly on trade. We're very excited about that.' Differences between the men on the very subject quickly emerged, as Trump admitted he's having 'second thoughts' about his assault on China and Johnson advised him that he should dial it back. 'Our view on the trade war, we're in favor of trade peace, on the whole, dialing it down,' he said.
