Britain could help secure the release of a supertanker seized off the coast of Gibraltar if Iran provides "sufficient guarantees" that the cargo is not bound for Syria.
Iran accused the UK of 'piracy' when it was detained near Gibraltar -- and the Royal Navy was forced to intervene when Iranian boats attempted to block a British tanker in the Gulf.
